A friend just sent me this: ------------------------------ When I found this recipe I thought it was perfect for people, like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is cooked thoroughly but not dried out. Give this a try. BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN 6-7 lb. chicken 1 cup melted butter 1 cup stuffing 1 cup uncooked popcorn salt/pepper to taste Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven. Listen for popping sounds. When the chicken's ass blows the oven door open and the chicken flies across the room, it is done. And, you thought I couldn't cook.

Hello Chris Thanks for the recipe. I just started with this cooking business - so far I made tea, and cornflakes. Havent started on the heavier stuff yet. But thanks anyway. Sounds good to me. Nish

This technique must work for duck because the plum sauce crispy duck I had for lunch today was superb. Melted off the bones... mmmnnnnn. I did hear a few odd noises from the kitchen, must have been the popcorn and the ricocheting duck...

wait, wouldn't the chicken end up denting the back of the oven, vs. flying 'round the room? :suss:

That's why the orientation of the chicken is important, you need to make sure the hole is pointing towards the back of the oven. It's the first time I see that the food orientation is important in cooking, except maybe for the feng shui stuff. Max.

An alternative could be to add some nuts of butter (50/100g) in the baking pan, adding also potatoes cut in small pieces. :)
