Data Structures and Other for Operations Research
-
I'm doing background research for a shop floor control system[1], or manufacturing execution system[^], and am slowly gleaning some structures and terms, e.g. where I started with 'machine', I have refined and abstracted it to 'work centre', and I have added 'Activity' to define a process in a work centre that fulfils part of a 'work order'. But progress is slow. Can anyone direct me to resources I can look at that discuss entities and data flow etc. in such systems, maybe in broader systems such as MRP[^] or MRPII[^] and even in ERP as a whole. [1]Definition: Shop Floor Control System - A management control system designed for supporting the best possible use of production resources, including facilities, materials, and employees. The functions of a shop floor control system include assigning priorities to manufacturing orders, and management of productivity and operating rate. - http://www2.intota.com/experts.asp?strSearchType=all&strQuery=shop+floor+control+system[^]
