I think the US should just the bomb the hell out of whoever offends us. That is our moral imperative. We rock, everyone else sucks so there. PS: I didn't even read the article. I don't have to cause I'm a cool American. Neener, neener, neener :) ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)!

Damn straight. You've been doing so for the last 50 years, so why stop now?  PS: I didn't read the article either. I don't have to because I'm a patronising even cooler Brit. Yah, boo, sucks!

Let's try the american way :) Chris Losinger wrote: so, yes. the US sold WMD stuff to Iraq, and so did half of Europe But we don't want to invade Iraq again :) Nah, our governments may acts like bloody bastards too, it's not a US speciality. Our best hope is for Saddam to invade Poland as Northern Europe is the place all our equipment is designed for. In the desert, our boots melt, the helicopter blade lifespan is reduced to seven hours, the tank airfilters malfunction and our guns need cleaning between shots. Not to mention our communication system doesn't work. In the Balkan conflict our troops were reduced to using their own mobile phones to communicate. Unless Saddam has built a large system of mobile phone towers as well as his weapons of mass destruction, we won't be able to talk between tanks. As in all things there generally has to be a vested interest before any action is taken. As long as it is "not in my back yard", or affect my people, or you have something I want, et. al. Fortunately there are some people out there that want to help the oppressed and hungry, but they are not in power!

The Clansman radios the UK Army has are totally and utterly crap. A GSM phone is way more reliable and secure! As an aside, while I was at Racal Instruments I got hauled into the refit programme for the Clansman Base ATE (circa 1977) in 1994, and what we found when we started digging was appalling. It's a miracle the system ever worked. X| The stupid thing is that the replacements (Bowman) have been "close" to being ready for years...the Racal Comms unit (the Panther V) that the mobile radios were based on has been available since the mid 90's (another contract I got dragged into!). I shudder to think when the kit from the last job I worked on there (a mobile ATE system to support the RAF EH101 helicopter) will be deployed! Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk
