Well, this just proves that: 1. World politics is as complicated as office politics 2. The boss and the president are both BS'ing you 3. What your boss/president says WILL be different from what he does 4. In the end, it's YOU that'll get f*cked, and painfully at that. Marc Help! Scary isn't it. I'm sure North Korea poses a far greater risk than Iraq will ever pose. I guess they are lucky that they are not sitting in the way of a necessary pipeline. Regardz Colin J Davies

In 60s and 70s, India obtained the nuclear know-how from Russia. Almost same period, the Gas centrifuge technology was provided to Pakistan by France. So the roots are in Russia and France. Recently India was also blamed for providing WMDs related technology to Iraq. So the situation is complex. How can USA justify the "action" on the single country that it blame for providing WMDs to other...every one is involved !!

An India based private company was found to have illegally exported goods to Iraq. The company's officials have been arrested (some are still absconding), their export license has been revoked, passports seized, etc etc. Did you read the full article yourself? In case you didn't, I suggest you read it in full, not just the first para and form opinions. From the article: The company, NEC Engineering Private Ltd., used phony customs declarations and other false documents, as well as front companies in three countries, to export 10 consignments of raw materials and equipment that Saddam Hussein's regime could use to produce chemical weapons and propellants for long-range missiles, according to Indian court records. Whenever it's something bad about India, some Pakistani fart gets an erection. Facts are flushed away while they masturbate.

So cute, it means that there is no check and balance on the private companies in India >>. Dear, arms exports is a serious issue and it can never happens without the knowledge of Government. Still if you insist that the company provided weapons to Iraq without the knowledge of Government (shame on such democracy), then your Government is extremely bad, and lots of other waeapons by other companies might be provided without the knowledge of Government. He slanted his post to mean as if the Indian government somehow supplied those things to Iraq, or it was done with the knowledge or approval of the Indian government. Please try to grasp what I said, rather than jumping to your own conclusions.

Chris Antonio wrote: (shame on such democracy) Then what do you have to say about US and/or other countries' exports to other countries which happen without the government's knowledge? These things happen now and then. It'd be naive to think the bad guys won't get an upper hand sometime. Chris Antonio wrote: So cute, it means that there is no check and balance on the private companies in India >>. Still if you insist that the company provided weapons to Iraq without the knowledge of Government (shame on such democracy), then your Government is extremely bad, and lots of other waeapons by other companies might be provided without the knowledge of Government. I suggest you go read the article in question before you make such statements. From the article (emphasis mine): The company, NEC Engineering Private Ltd., used phony customs declarations and other false documents, as well as front companies in three countries, to export 10 consignments of raw materials and equipment that Saddam Hussein's regime could use to produce chemical weapons and propellants for long-range missiles, according to Indian court records. The shipments, valued at nearly $800,000, took place between September 1998 and February 2001. The exports -- highly specialized supplies such as atomized aluminum powder and titanium centrifugal pumps -- ostensibly went to Jordan and Dubai. But they subsequently were traced to Iraq's Fallujah II chlorine plant and a rocket fuel production facility at Al Mamoun, according to U.S. and British intelligence reports. Last time I checked, atomized aluminium powder and titanium pumps do not classify as weapons. Nor are they limited in use to weapon production. There are legitimate reasons for its use and trade too. This is just like saying I gave you steel which you used to make guns, so my country is co-operating with you. Private companies aren't even allowed to make arms in India. Small guns etc maybe, but nothing which could pose a danger to a lot of people. Agreed, the company in question knew fully well what they were doing, but they did not export it directly to Iraq either. They sent it to Jordan and Dubai, and from there they were sent to Iraq. Should those countries not be blamed too then? Even the US officials understand this, that is why they are not putting India in a bad lig
