I just got this from Trillian, via ICQ: "Session Start (ICQ - 171567174:Natalya(mail)): Mon Jan 27 09:28:33 2003 Natalya(mail): Sender IP: 199.106.212.8 Subject: Hello from Ukraine! Hi there My name is Natalya. I live in Ukraine and I am looking for new friends all over the world. I found your in ICQ LoveMatch derictory and I got interested in your profile. If you want to know more about me, you may read about me here confidentialconnections.com/?pr=nsi I'm looking forward to your reply. See you soon." It actually came from a Shun Toda in Japan (rd006019@se.ritsumei.ac.jp)! What the hell is the point of this sort of nonsense? The website is a wife importing service for Ukraine ladies, and the ICQ Lovematch derictory(sic) is a list I've never heard of! Geez - can't even use an IM service without the friggin spammers getting hold of the address!!! BTW - The website features some major heifers.:-D Nobody wants to read a diary by someone who has not seen the shadow of Bubba on the prison shower wall in front of them!

There is an option in ICQ (and trillian) to ignore messages from users not in your contact list - I used to get lots of spam messages until I turned that on -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

I guess I've been lucky - this is the first such message. And, as the pesky popup keeps reminding me, I've been using Trillian for over 5000 hours.:) Nobody wants to read a diary by someone who has not seen the shadow of Bubba on the prison shower wall in front of them!
