Yup, it's real! It's a charitable organization that let's you donate livestock to people in order to help them become self-sufficient. Apparently they will also help to train people in the care of their animals - nice idea! I don't know about the organization, but the idea is chinese ("Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime"). It's perhaps even maoist :-D

"A gift of a water buffalo can lighten the load of a struggling family in countries like Nepal, Cambodia or the Philippines. It can lighten the load of decisions about what to give everyone on your gift list as well. " Well that's next Christmas sorted...

A pack of geeks, pale and skinny, feeling a bit pumped and macho after a morning of strenuous mouse clicking and dragging, arriving en masse at the gym. They carefully reset the machines to the lowest settings, offer to spot for each other on the 5 lb dumbells, and rediscover the art of macrame while attempting to jump rope. -Roger Wright on my colleagues and I going to gym each day at lunch

You can buy a share of a goat for $10 :wtf: Wish I'd known that back in the days when my Dad had 600 of them! (Believe it or not goats are very good for ecotourism - clear out the overgrown area's for hikers / horseriders / tubers and reduce the chance of the poor townies getting tick bite fever :) )
