Maybe there're real bad English (American) movies. But what I hate most of all is our German productions, made to be shown at prime-time from monday till friday.:( They have titles of at least 20 words (The man who's mother had a brother that went to ... and did ... while having ... ), and accordent to what people currently want to see they deal with abduction, rape, diseases .... And that's the most important: the movies have to be f***ing dramatically! No movie without that - except it's kind of comedy, unfortunately everytime badly modeled on American movies! So every evening I end up watching the repetitions of some old series, waiting for better times to come.:~

"Hardware"...what my friends and I used to call a "Tony Turkey" after the guy who picked them. The best jape I witnessed was when an old friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) was wound up to expect the other guys were coming back with a blue movie from the video rental place...only to find out they'd rented a Winny the Pooh movie instead. The worst bit was that it took him a couple of minutes to work out he'd been well and truly "had". Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk

I'm with Paul here. Black Hawk Down was a tremendous movie. I was expecting the PH "rah-rah-U-S-A" crap, but was thoroughly blown away. Then again, I much prefer war movies that make war look like war and not like a hollywood production. Full Metal Jacket was another good one. Pearl Harbour blew. J

I can think of worse though. At least I managed to laugh most of the way through that. I can even think of worse B-movies. At least Plan 9 has the excuse of bein 40-odd years old; what's The Killer Eye's excuse? Seven Years in Tibet was probably the most tedious film I've ever sat through but too well put together to be considered worst film. Maybe Driller Killer? Of course if you went there expecting Fred Astair and Ginger then it is not the fault of the movie that you did not respect it. If it was just another action movie then it would have been borderline good, but they, rather poorly and extremely distastefully, tried to associate it with a real event that should never have been approached by Hollywood. What next - Holocaust the movie? The scene with the woman ("don't you pick that up, don't you do it") was played from entirely the wrong angle, and to be bluntly honest it made me sick to know tens of thousands of American kids will be growing up believing that was what actually happened in Somalia. Paul Watson wrote: PH was weak PH was pathetic. I'm sure it would be fine for a home audience, but please Hollywood don't push your substandard romantics onto the rest of the world. SPR wasn't much better (the opening scene was the only good part on the whole wasted DVD). Paul Watson wrote: And David, I am right, you are wrong, so don't argue back. K? Not according to Josh... ;) "Yeah. What David said. Just like that, that's how it is. Ditto"
