Paul, while not completely fleshed out Larry Niven and Dr. Pournelle's book "The Mote in Gods Eye" is an interesting look at man dealing with a first-contact with a very alien race. Yay! The Mote In Gods Eye is THE book on first contact with an alien race. I just finished it for the third time. What a pity the sequel SUCKED BALLS. Sigh...
