Hey, i'm all for equality, so long as everyone shaves in the right places and acts polite and courteous to each other. Especially the shaving bit. Especially the courteous bit.

I'd love to know where the "right places" are  Personally, I think it should be mandatory for guys with hairy bums to have them waxed. But that's just my perversionopinion. ;P Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk

It would be hard to explain but when I see the word Penguin I associate it to Eric Cantona  Our version of Spitting Images made a caricature of Cantona as a painter, mainly interested in painting penguins (In french, the word corresponding to penguin, pingouin, is very efficient to render the pronunciation of Cantona, with an strong provencal accent)

That reminds me of that James Bond line in Goldeneye (I think that was the one): Miss Moneypenny to James as he is 'catching up on some Danish': "You always were a cunning linguist James". :-D [edit] I think the James Bond film in question might actually be Tomorrow Never Dies instead. Can anyone confirm this before I die of curiosity and get the DVD's out? ;P

There sometimes seems to be little difference between posts made to the lounge and the soapbox, these days. I'm comfortable reading both boards, but wondered how people interpreted the word "rant"? To me, if you are going to put in expletives, even if you cunningly (or not so, IMO) disguise them with a bunch of asterisks, or even via upper and lower case code (I mean, come on, my 10 year old could suss that one out!!), then they should be in the soapbox, surely? I know we have both now and the Soapbox is picking up in traffic, but I know I put things in the Lounge I want more people to see and reply too. I think this may happen with others too. Maybe if the Soapbox didn't edit my words with asterix's I wouldn't feel the need to circumvent it. By the way my beautiful upper/lower case code has been in use on CP for well over a year now. And it is extremely cunning and requires immense intellect to come up with. I'm comfortable reading both boards, but wondered how people interpreted the word "rant"? I think it is hard for us old timers who were here when the Lounge was the only place and everything went. I mean it's not like some script kiddie could come up with it. ;P Michael Martin Australia mjm68@tpg.com.au "I personally love it because I can get as down and dirty as I want on the backend, while also being able to dabble with fun scripting and presentation games on the front end." - Chris Maunder 15/07/2002

Aaaah, I see, I was obviously being way too superficial in my interpretation of it. Many apologies, care to explain the firetruck cipher so that a mere c++ developer could understand it??:-D Debbie

Ah, I see, well by your (somewhat limited) criteria, I will admit that, yes, I could sometimes be pigeon-holed as a lady. I still say "fucking"[1] occasionally though. [1] oooh, oooh, I got some asterisks!!! I wanna see the list filters!!! Debbie
