From the article: "As far as the English are concerned, I have decided to adopt the same attitude as them: I despise them as much as they despise everybody else!" I don't understand. I have often heard them being called arrogant. But at least from my limited understanding, the truth is far from that. A couple of years back I had a chance to meet the business development manager of a leading anti virus company from England. The guy was English, and I can assure you I've never met a nicer guy. He'd come to India for a trade show, and that's where we met. If one can call him arrogant because he's got better manners and ettiquette (sp) than me, then yes, he's arrogant. Otherwise not. I know several people who've been to England and they tell me they're cool guys. And, if that wasn't enough, here is the ultimate proof they are a cool bunch. In cricket, when they see their team is losing (as they often do ;P ), they cheer the players of the other team if somebody is playing really well. Never miss a chance to applaud a good shot, or a nice catch. Doesn't matter which team is winning, as long as it is good cricket. Now how cool/non-arrogant/I-don't-hate-you-dude-as-long-as-you-play-good-cricket is that? :-D

So, what is true for Cricket is not for Rugby :) I think Harinordoquy didn't want to slam all the english but the rugby players. The English team has this reputation, and french players are not the only ones to quote it, as said in the article.

No, think about it logically... the evidence is all there. Obviously David is removing one extra character from the database each day to make Chris think he is insane, and I'm sure Chris is in turn doing something equally as nasty involving earthworms and spaghetti. I'm just waiting anxiously to see how the Muggle-Wumps fit into all this and hope I wont need to get the RSPCA[^] involved again. If you're lost, you haven't read The Twits[^] you poor deprived child. That brings back find memories! I used to love reading Fantastic Mr Fox and his adventures with the farmers, and of course The Twits and their blackbird pie. Damn, I'll be up in the loft first thing tomorrow hunting out all my old books! :-D

Had it been between just you guys and the English, I would have thought maybe you two don't like each other. But so many people say so. And yet my own experience is so different. Talk about stereotypes.

It's more a tradition, quiet a game, than a real hate, at least from our side. It's also a way to push the pressure 10 days before a capital match :)

In Cricket, it's the same between India and Pakistan. If we win, the whole country celebrates the event. But if we lose, the country goes in mourning. :-D
