It just struck me that there are people out there who do this as part of their jobs. Heck, there might even be database compilers who specialise in obscenities. Now how would you describe that on your CV? Anyone else here use Eduora as a mail client? It has these little chille pepper ratings as to how abusive/naughty/obscene an email is, both for incoming and outgoing emails. Someone must be not only compiling the list to check against, but also rating it! I like Eudora, but it's quite amusing when you compile an email, try to send it and it warns you that the content "might need toning down", or words to that effect. I think you can switch this "feature" off, but I quite like clicking on the "send anyway" button after the warning. It must be the rebel in me :~ Debbie

Does it tell you what words may cause offence? I remember a famous case (that may turn out to just be urban myth) about the employees of Scunthorpe City Council discovering that they were no longer able to send emails after a new profanity filtering system was installed -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

And two exclamation marks too, for good measure.

I guess we need a handy "save highlighted text in a logfile" macro / plugin for IE. I've got a simple popup in mIRC that brings up my quotes file, which means it only takes a fraction of a second to save something amusing -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

I would be thrilled to get 3 chilli emails that were not spam. Everyone is so staid and boring in their emails, ugh, liven it up! Sex sells people! And swear words work, otherwise Hollywood would not still be using them. See, even this post needs toning up. Throw in a bit of S&M or eye-ball sucking.

You'll get lots then! Given the abundance of very obscure special interest groups, you may even find one for eye-ball sucking afficianados. Hey, you may even find an S&M one for those with an eyeball sucking fetish! I'm not sure whether Eudora could rate the vagaries of those emails though. Debbie
