<rant> instead of giving "1"s to posts you don't like... how about you show some balls and tell the world why you don't like it? if you simply disagree with something and give it a "1", you accomplish nothing. you aren't making any point. nothing is communicated - other than the fact that you're a spineless coward who can't come up with anything useful to contribute. </rant> (yes, i expect this will be gray by the next time i see it. ha ha - that's very clever) -c

I agree with you completely even though I rarely use the voting system. I give this post a 5. Brad Jennings "if the golden arches shut shop, where else are the VB people going to get work." - Colin Davies

I agree with your rant. I've always said that it would be nice to allow us to see the names of those who voted and how they voted. It could help to prevent people from voting negatively for no apparent reason. It might also be good to allow us to change our votes. There have been a couple of times when I've voted one way and then changed my mind, but since votes can't be changed... Regards, Alvaro

Hmmm. It hasn't turned gray yet. I wonder if those spineless cowards who vote without comment are also too timid to lurk in the Soapbox? They're annoying, to be sure, but insignificant. I don't understand why some folks get so emotional about seeing some moron award their witty posts a '1' rating. The rating system is a guideline, not a judgement. Some people will almost always earn a low rating because of the things they post; we have our extremists here, just like in real life. And like most extremists in the real world, they're cowards here, too. Who cares? Consider the source, and move on... I read most of them, regardless of the color of the link. And, for the most part, I agree with the ratings awarded. If I don't I'll vote to correct matters, and add my reasons for doing so to the thread. Overall, I think the system works rather well, and only a few idiots whose opinions have no value abuse it. Nobody wants to read a diary by someone who has not seen the shadow of Bubba on the prison shower wall in front of them!

<jumping destination="bandwagon"> yeah i agree totally with you guys - if i see a post, i read it, i don't even look at the rating anymore. if there's a good reason for disagreeing, okay that's different, but if the guy just votes vindicatively because he doesn't agree and can't even formulate a coherent criticism, i feel his vote should be ignored. CP should develop a lie-detector type thing to measure the guys level of spinelessness then make the vote count more or less based on that value ;P </jumping> okay - i'm done :-O Paul Only the good die young,

I don't ever post a reply when I vote 1, when I've made my point clear several times to the "offender". It's boring to repeat 1000 times the same thing.

I agree Michael, I rarely vote at all. Mostly 5's when I want to give a big "thumbs up". I have though, given the occassional 1 w/o comment for what I consider a comment or arguement too dumb to respond to. If people don't like it they can bite me. :| Mike Mullikin
