Breast cancer less likely in cyclists[^] I can understand that drinking in moderation can help with some cardiac problems ( chemically at least ), but the link between cycling and breast cancer seems so loose that I need help with this! The article only hint that cycling help, but no more than keeping up a healthy life! also see other links on the right of the page... Max.

Perhaps do they rather die because of something else, like a heart attack at 40, so they can't develop^a breast cancer?

They haven't found any medical explaination, just the kind of research that says "compare 500 cyclists and 500 non-cyclists and see what the differences are." Odds are high that Karl is right on the money as to the explaination. Paul And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking

Perhaps the bouncing keeps them healthy?

There are thousands of reasons why this could be the case. I wonder if the saddles do anything ? Regardz Colin J Davies

I don't know about you, but I've never seen a woman cyclist with her breasts anywhere near the saddle. Well, OK, maybe in a particular genre of movie, but I fear we're venturing into a topic too tawdry even for the Soapbox. --Mike-- The Internet is a place where absolutely nothing happens.   -- Strong Bad 1ClickPicGrabber - Grab & organize pictures from your favorite web pages, with 1 click! > Bloody car drivers! Bloody cyclists! If I drove my car at 20kph, took up the entire line, refused to budge, and held up traffic, I'd expect to be gunned down in no time at all... So why are cyclists allowed to do this? Anyone who can't keep up with the traffic flow shouldn't be on the road, period. They're only adding obstacles to swerve around when there's incoming traffic. PS - it's -23 degrees Celcius as I'm writing this; there's black ice everywhere. Seeing some bozo on his bike under those conditions piss me off to no end, because I'm the one who's gonna end up getting sued when he slides under my tires.:mad::mad:

                      > I keep as far to the right as possible. I only ask of car drivers to keep > as far to the left as possible when they pass me. The problem is that where I am, a *lot* of cyclists don't do that--they'll park themselves in the middle of the lane like any other vehicle (picture yourself in your car pulling up to a red light behind a bicycle). That's an accident waiting to happen, and it does. When someone runs over a cyclist with his car (no matter what stupid thing the cyclist was doing), he doesn't get much sympathy as the city I live in is lead by treehuggers and is trying to push people to leave their cars home and ride their bikes. Plus they had this big "share the road" campaign a while back, but obviously some cyclists misunderstood the message and instead use it as an excuse not to move over. > Someone bicycling in that weather is probably not mentally stable. Could > you blame such a person for keeping up traffic? I've seen it at least twice every week this winter. Even right after a snowfall and you can barely stand up on a sidewalk. How do you expect to stay upright on a bike when making a turn with tires less than an inch wide?
