U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell told a Senate panel Tuesday that what appears to be a new statement from Osama bin Laden shows why the world needs to be concerned about Iraqi ties to terrorism. Powell then used the reported taped message to bolster his argument for war with Iraq. What a pity, Powell is using Bin Laden's tape as a reason for a war against Iraq. What a fall for a great war hero. :| Just because Bin Laden supporting Muslims in Iraq, that not means Iraq has ties with Bin Laden. Earlier Bin Laden also supported his cause for Muslims in Palestine and Kashmir (India) Does that mean, India also has tie-ups with Bin Laden??? :~ Report..[^] Follow live World Cup Cricket scores here[^]

I think the original proove of their connection was developed via satellite photos, like all other Iraq-related proofs.:) Perhaps the US observed some ominous Muslim-looking man having some stick in his hand crossing the Iraqi border .... whether it's been some armed Taliban or an Iraqi cattle drover isn't really clear ... but does it matter?? :wtf:

As I said earlier, it's almost as if Bin Laden is trying to bring on the war to prove a point about the West's injustices against Muslim nations. Then he will be "justified" in his Jihad. :((

If I stand up and say that I supported Iraq in the upcoming 'title fight', does that mean that Iraq has links with me? OF COURSE IT BLUDDY DON'T! What we are experiencing is PROPAGANDA. Does anyone else remember that one? Pretty much all conflicts have a propaganda element - take the example of the British gov. spreading rumours during WWI about the Germans crucifying a British soldier. It's always easier for a government to garner public support if they can portray their enemy as evil nasty pieces of work who do terrible things like "support" terrorists.

Then he will be "justified" in his Jihad. I think the war would only be a drop in a bucket. Bin Laden doesn't need to prove anything to his adherers or other people who believe in what he says. For them, just the fact that the US (or any other western country, but US at the top) has economical interests in Muslim countries or even has troops down there in the Middle East is reason enough to fight against them. And thus to do what they think their religion demands them to do. :((

I think Powell has been hanging around Bush too long and his brain is getting mushy. I hope he hasn't gone over to the dark side. He seemed like the only one that could be trusted. The rest of them will say anything to get their way. Not that they're always wrong, but things like that nonsense about the Al tubes and their refusal to stop repeating it just undermines their credibility.

I can just see it now.... ring ring, ring ring... Saddam : "Hello, Saddam speaking?" Osama : "Hi Saddam, its Osama." Saddam : "Hi Osama, hows life in the cave?" Osama : "Not so bad, getting by. I was calling to reassert out commitment together." Saddam : "No problem, I just hope that this line is not tapped." Osama : "Me to, if it is then they may be able to trace me to this hotel in Vegas." Saddam : "Not to worry then. Say hello to Elvis for me." Osama : "Oh and one more thing, I've ropped Canada in as well."

Somehow I don't think that would work out very well. :) -- "And God said, Let us make man in our image"
