All I have to say is that for the last 3 years I've been staying up to date with all of the info I could about biological warfare. I work for a company, who ultimately designs materials for helping the US Military do their duty. Without us and our products, the military would have equipment breakdowns 100 fold from their current worries. I get to see a list every month of materials for Uncle Sam, and have a good estimation about what their making and using these things for. Anybody here think they have all the info that our President has. I sure as hell don't and the general public and news media are absolute idiots. ( sorry, but its true ) Knowing what I know, and the fact that the President has thousands of times more info than I could even think of. You better believe that I trust his decisions. I don't always agree with them, but I stand by them. I guess everyone else just wants an easy life, they don't want to work to damn hard, and they want to blame their problems on someone else. Seriously find out about biological weapons, new tunnelling equipment that is cheap and easy ( hint: huge place with sand and need to store military equip and weapons ) oh yeah, the UN inspectors who have seen mobile weapons factories with Anthrax and Ebola. They can't prove it 'cause they are mobile' and our satellites follow paths, not vehicles. The world isn't a nice place. The US has always had to help and protect everyone else. Before you bitch about it learn something. Hey here's another rant. You know that Russia isn't doing so well either. Well, most of the guys in their Navy are working off IOUs, meaning that they don't get paid and they are even charged for being there. They just stay on a ship constantly cause they don't have money. Russians are dying from the cold, there aren't even trees to burn down in most places for wood to burn for heat. They are pretty pissy. Did you know that they are trying to land subs over here, not to take over, but just so that they can get warmth and food. Sorry, but we have enough problems with illegal aliens now, let alone military ones. You wouldn't believe what the US Nave has to do to keep them from coming over. It's a constant threat. You like liberty and freedom don't you. I design "materials" for our military. Thats how I serve our Nation. By brother is on his way to another part of the world right now for our Navy. When I was on Desert Stike in '96 our carrier bombed Iraq daily, we had 0 casualties on our flight missions. an air war is somewhat different than a ground war where one of the stated goals is to capture and/or kill a single man (Saddam). given that the military couldn't complete that same mission with OBL as the target (someone who actually had something to do with an attack on the US), i'm skeptical about their chances with Saddam. and since there's a good chance he'll be hiding in a city full of civilians, i expect there will be a lot of opportunity for civilian casualties from bad intel, stray ammo, etc. (think chinese embassy and aspirin factory). edit* if we go into Baghdad and start racking up the civillian body count, we're going to find ourselves in a bad situation. people might not like Saddam, but they won't like us either, if we kill thousands of their neighbors. it's one thing to live in fear; it's another thing to see five of your friends killed by your 'liberators'. *tide but, since the war will happen regardless of what i think, i do hope it goes smoothly and that we can get out of there quickly (unlike the other 80 countries the US military is currently in). -c
