I can't believe how dumb this is. I was at Microsoft last night for a (much belated) post TechEd briefing/bitch session and they said that one of the biggest complaints was from managers saying that their staff got drunk and ended up missing keynotes, etc... How's that Microsoft's fault if ppl are 404 enough to miss keynotes? Weak. Of course, the same thing happened at my company where 2 ppl missed a keynote/case-study that covered exactly what we needed to do in a project a month later. Dumb asses. And I hear that US TechEds stop handing out alcohol at 1am. What's up with that? :wtf: We South Africans can drink all night. ;P Here are some pics for those interested: Palace of the Lsot City[^] my stash of free stuff [^] (including Tom's book!) sponsors [^] stand Cheers, Simon "The day I swan around in expensive suits is the day I hope someone puts a bullet in my head.", Chris Carter. animation mechanics in SVG       (latest pic 1) (latest pic 2)

This is one of the whines I have. I'm a very good driver, and I'm still a good driver when I'm real pissed. Better then a lot of other people are sober. So why can't I take my Driver License test when I'm pissed and they will then know it's okay for me to drive pissed. Similar with emloyement interviews, if someone says that they are a drinker, well get them drinking to see how they can handle their grog. Instead it appears people who can't handle their drink manage to get all the good jobs where free alcohol is handed out, and then they can't perform. Regardz Colin J Davies

You got Tom's book for free? And don't tell me the IPaq was free as well. Got to say Inside C# is up there with my best book buys. I wait for the day you kill someone with baited breath  If you look at how alcahol affects the brain, one of the centres affected first is related to judgement - particularly in terms of skill and reflex times. Its been tested and proven too many times. And too many killed or maimed by drunk drivers. The tigress is here :-D

You fail to realise that not everyone is affected by alcohol the same way. Sure most peoples performance is adversly affected by alcohol but not everybody is affected. The assumptions are based on statisics chosen to present a one sided case and make no calculations for those of us who are in fact unaffected by this. Regardz Colin J Davies
