So, do you have the source-code to Windows 8? This is a developers' forum - if you have code, we can help :) FWIW, it's a generic error-code in Windows. The code might be thrown by different games for different reasons. I'd recommend reinstalling that game and then to run in it "compatibility mode" (right click the icon, properties, go to "Compatibility" tab, set to Windows XP. Also tick the checkbox saying "Run as administrator". Then try again.
