:-D Not really but... http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/7/29422.html[^] Okay, in the press here recently there has been a backlash against call centre jobs at BT being moved to India. Now I'm not saying BT is involved in treating workers like this, but if I had to work in a call centre and this was the way I was treated then I would tell them to shove it. Frankly good ridance to those kind of jobs. I'm guessing it will work differently in India as they tend to fill these type of positions with well educated graduates, rather than the monkeys they do over here resulting in a high staff turnover. In a way I feel sorry for them but in India it seems to be well paid work for the outsourced call centres to service foreign clients. Don't know if its the same for call centres to service the local country. Damn! Giles wrote: rather than the monkeys they do over here resulting in a high staff turnover It's a shame they can't bring in more intelligent bus drivers as well. This morning I had only a £10 note when getting onto the bus (something I try my best not to do, but hey, it's the smallest donomination a cash machine will spit out). So the bus driver starts moaning about the lack of foresight small change in his kitty, takes the note and says I should get the change back from him when I get off. So, after my 5 stops, I ask for change before getting off. He starts counting labourously, and, considering the effort he was going to, I didn't check the amount handed to me in multiple coins. Anyway - cut a long story short - when I got to work, I counted the cash, and he'd given me back the full £10 in small change, instead of the £9,30 I was due. 2 extra chocolates coming up for me! :-D

But I am fantastic in bed! And there are gorgeous women in all the houses I pass. And it would be wrong to leave them unsatisfied! So spam is the only way... - Paul Watson

Nice. I love it when that happens. About 2 weeks ago, I paid for something with a £10 note, but they gave me a 20 back. I pointed it out as I'm nice like that...sometimes. :-D Quote from a clever bloke : "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein

I'm 27 - 12 years older than the maximum age for child fares (40p instead of 70p), but at least once a week a driver charges me as a child. Admittedly, this does happen more often when I have a woolen hat on for the cold, but occasionally it even happens with no hat! Then I'm left with a dillema - do I embarress the bus driver and give back the 30p, or keep the 30p and feel guilty... Oh for life without a conscience!

Your not really short are you? A friend from Uni was recently ID'd in the supermarket when she was buying a bottle of wine with her weekly shop. She's 29. She asked if it was some kind of joke, which it was not. I think the person on the till was quite embaresed when she finally found something, which took a while as she does not usually carry any. You are taller than my mum. As a rule of thumb we keep all the junk food, soda pop, chocolate, alcohol and pickled onions in the house on the middle and top shelves in the kitchen because she can only reach the bottom shelf without using her reaching stool. I can remember a time whne I used to look up to my mother -- now I just keep tripping over her! (Sorry mum... :-O)

If so, note down his name from his badge and the next time he asks you for a child fair pull the old "James? James is that you? I haven't seen you since the war!" routine and see what he does. :)

I have had similar incidents happen with me too. On several occasions I have had money returned to me when I gave a Rs. 50 note instead of a Rs. 10 note, and a Rs. 500 note instead of a Rs. 100 note. Of course, I have had chances to do this too, return money that is. Small incidents like these make me feel good and warm all over, and restore/reinforce my faith in the human race. :) Thanks for sharing. :rose:

5,2? really? My other half says she's 5,2 but she is really 5,1 going on 5,0. :-D Quote from a clever bloke : "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." - Albert Einstein

I think I'm about 5'7" to 5'8" which is just short enough for me not to attract too much attention. I do know one girl who towers over me though (she must be at least 6'2") and she seems to manage OK too. :) Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk

I'm around 5'2" too (1.57 m). The step-stool is the most useful thing in my house <sigh />.

Then kick him until he stops laughing, or point out he's replaceable... My wife is 4,11 (but always insists 5,0) and I wouldn't dream of making fun of her (ahem) shortcomings - she might decide to do likewise with me, and while my height is not an issue, I'm sure she'd be able to find something else... Of course, our 3 yr old uses her step-stool to reach stuff he shouldn't, which is a different problem altogether. Steve S [This signature space available for rent]
