http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2003/0303.marash.html worried about Iraq selling weapons? maybe it's time to worry who's selling weapons to Iraq. "Yugoslav experts were contributing to an Iraqi program to retrofit jet trainers for remote piloting, so they could be turned into "poor man's cruise missiles," capable of delivering a 1,000-pound bomb up to 900 miles. " -c

Highly unlikely The cost of a Mig-21 (as the article suggests) far exceeds the cost of a cruise missile Mig-21 - $3 to $ million dollars Cruise Missle - $600,000 Although some of the points in the article are valid, I have my doubts about that particular one, it looks like a case of misinformed scare mongering to me.

An old idea but a realistic one. Implemented by the Germans during WWII, and by the US Navy during Korea War, it's possible Iraqui may have reinitiated such a project. Interessant article anywya, especially the analysis of post-war in ex-Yugoslavia.

You just forget two points: 1) UN forbid Iraq to build cruise missiles, and Iraq may not have the technology to design such missiles. 2) Iraq has already Mig-21. Moreover, I don't see why financial considerations would obliterate strategical ones.
