Saddam is crafty one, he is. He realizes that, whether the debate happens or not, this can only hurt Bush's idea of a US led war against Iraq. If Bush says no, his credibility on the war issue will go down the shitter. If he says yes, Saddam has the chance to convince people he's not as evil as he looks. This is an interesting turn of events, thanks for the link. Aight, I'm out, I hate political discussions. If Bush would send one of his doubles, too? I can't imagine Saddam himself would appear beside Bush ...he'd to fear that Bush personally would choke him.... :omg:

As this is a repost from a couple of days ago, I'll say again what I said then - I would really be interested to see this, but really can't imagine it happening, simply because I get the impression that Saddam would come off far better from it (Saddam may be ruthless and evil, but nobody's ever accused him of being stupid) I'm sure Saddam knows this, and would take great glee in making Bush look like an idiot on live television -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

And Saddam wouldn't need to do much to achieve that. Beside speaking about an "axle of evil", "who's not for us is against us" and babbling of "Saddam is bad" he'd have no new arguments. Because that's all he's mentioning during the last past months.

All Gore thought that too. And got a rather nasty surprise when it turned out Bush was well prepared for the debates. Many feel that Bush "won" the debates. It is well known that GWB prefers to have opponents underestimate him. Some ideas are so stupid that only an intellectual could have thought of them - George Orwell
