Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole) - despite it's title and the nature of most soapbox discussions, this is not a political book. this is a hillarious story about an overeducated but undermotivated malcontent in 1960's New Orleans. it's about to be made into a movie, so now's your last chance to read it before the movie distorts the story. added bonus, the author never got this book, his only one, published and eventually committed suicide. his mother, however, found a publisher for it; and the book subsequentliy won the Pulitzer prize. -c
