Adding first record in the Database

I am trying to append record to the newly created Database(which is created thro' DAO ) thro' program . But, i am unable to add the first record(thro' ADO).But if I add the first record manually(directly into the DB)the following records are getting appended thro' program perfectly. How can I append the first record thro' the program . Y.Yamini Devi
