What would you say is the best guitar solo in the history of Rock n' Roll? We're talking overall merit here, not just technical proficiency. I vote for Nuno Bettencourt's solo in Song For Love, by Extreme. That one gives me chills.

Alex Patterson from From Rush on "La Villa Strangiato" ( I don't have the CDs with me for the following ) and BucketHead on "Praxis - Sacrifist" and Buckethead on "Praxis - Transmutation Live" Weird and hardcore funky guitar solo. Max.

It's not an all guitar solo song, but the musicality of the piece is superb.

Best? Can't say, it all depends on my mood. But some of the more memorable guitar songs for me are: Stevie Ray Vaughn - Little Wing Ted Nugent - Stranglehold David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb Joe Satriani- Cryin' Steve Vai - Blue Powder Mark Knopfler - Sultans of Swing Haven't even touched Jimi, Eric Clapton, Dream Theater, Rush, Jimmy Page, Maiden, ZZ Top, ..... There are just too many to think of.
