What about taking a look not only at JSON, but also at the Hierarchical Database paradigm, as it was typical of the 1960ies in programming languages like MUMPS? Having worked with such a dinosaur long ago, I see more similarities between JSON and hierarchical dbs than between JSON and relational dbs.

Because JSON is the hierarchical cluster :elephant: data model know to several orders of magnitude more devs these days than any pre-sql relic. :rolleyes:
