[Uncomfortable Truth About Programming](https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/1270839/Uncomfortable-Truth-About-Programming) He does have a few reasonable articles. I may just be trigger happy after yesterday's magic love festival. I don't want to flag this as my flag is a hammer. One shot and he's gone.

It's like "Site Driving", but with Keyboarditis.

Hmmm. What can I do to comply with the forum policy. Remove all the links or specific links. Here is the link to updated article: Uncomfortable Truth About Programming[^] There were two links. One was at the end of article that points to home page. The second link was related to within the content that points to another article. I have re-posted this article from my own website. Re-posting is according to codeproject rules and regulation. Nope. But posting articles with multiple links to your own site can be considered "site-driving spam", because it looks like you're trying to "drive" more traffic to your site. :) As always, the context matters. For example, a blog post which is part of a series, with links to other parts of the series on the source blog, would usually be OK. And content quoted from third-party sites would pretty-much always require a link to the source, to avoid accusations of plagiarism. It's a complicated topic, which is why the system isn't completely automated, and also why Matthew posted this thread asking for other opinions.

Hey Griff, I tried to write content that is valuable for the readers. I work hard to get them interested and educated until the end of my article. At the very last I gave them a related link to my website which they can follow if they like my content. I believe, I earned it. That is how other website who allow guest post from authors. Somehow, my latest article gave the impression of some 'site driving' spam. I didn't have that spammy intention. People don't read spammy article upto the end. They fly away after reading first 2 paragraph. Anyway, I would like you to review your decision and upvote my article. Thanks

Don't get me bad, but no. There are authors here who "earned" it much much more than you, and they don't do it.

You confuse things... people abort a crapy article in the second paragraph, one spammy article gets read until we find the links.

You should not worry about the downvotes. We all get them. By the way... editing the one article starting this thread, asking for "review decision" and leaving all other articles with the link... is not helping at all. You have the link in your biography, in your signature and in all articles you posted. It does really look as you were really looking for publicity.

Nelek, Great insights. I was qouting the down votes given by some of the reviewers here based upon the assumptions of a spammy article. I do care about the down votes given by real readers or the readers for whom the article was intended for. This is the reasons I deleted several of my articles that were disliked by my readers. Also, link in the autobiography is permitted in code project rules after you earned certain reputation.(which I did). Beside that every other link in my articles is highly related. Finally, I believe I have a different mind set for the term 'publicity'. I put a link for those readers who find the article great and at the end they really want to learn more( for that I put a link at the end). I consider this as my obligation towards my readers. Many students has contacted me for help. Unfortunately on codeprojectit is considered spam. Anyway, I look forward to writing more articles and helping students. -Umair

Great. Under the heading 'spam and abuse' I consider everything that is unethical, not the best practice or etc. Saying the exact term is not my goal. I have given you the examples of other bloggers and platforms where it is normal practice and does not considered 'site driving' a.k.a un-ethical. I believe when the first reporter of the article was in doubt every body else just jump on it. I believe that doubt is good enough for me. Finally, thanks for your feedback but you are not the only one who is telling me what is allowed and what is not.

Great. Under the heading 'spam and abuse' I consider everything that is unethical, not the best practice or etc. Saying the exact term is not my goal. I have given you the examples of other bloggers and platforms where it is normal practice and does not considered 'site driving' a.k.a un-ethical. Getting unpaid publicity or hits in google for your link (articles are indexed, biography not) or saying "if you want to know more go to XXX" is considered here unethical too. That's exactly what "site driving".

                              1. Carrying weapons in public is usual in some counties in the USA, Women almost naked is considered normal in many countries in summer, Drinking alcohol is allowed in a lot of countries too... but if I try to do that in Pakistan I doubt I will be just "warned" and given a second chance to rectify as you are being given here. In China copying the work of other people is considered an honor (maybe for you too, I don't know and I don't care), but here there is zero tolerance against plagiarism. Matthew (the one starting the thread) had doubts yes, but because if he had done the click, your articles and your account would have been instantly banned, because he is an admin. There is more people having the same opinion, and I am being pretty patient trying to explain you the reasons and etiquette of the site.

You are right, I am not an official member of CP Staff, but CP trust me and many others keep the place clean due to our good criteria (but we are men, so we can have errors too). But yes... I am getting tired of this too. I have spoken with you much more than I usually do with other people. You are now open to the community. Have a nice day.

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
