Inline LaTex code in articles

So the inline formulas are written as <span class="math">\( a \cdot b \) but as soon as I put these in the next time either the Codeproject editor (or maybe some staff member?) edits the article the <span class="math"> and <span> tags are automatically removed. So they don't show up as formulas anymore. (I had to trick the editor in the question here as well but basically the same happens if I write this: \( a \cdot b \) )
