Google Drive users angry over losing months of stored data

Google Drive users are reporting that recent files stored in the cloud have suddenly disappeared, with the cloud service reverting to a storage snapshot as it was around April-May 2023.

Someone should have told them to use the accounts at least once within two years
M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Maybe someone was confused about when they had to delete personal information? If you rely on a free service, then you have to live with it. It's not like storing files (where you can share them) is that expensive. It costs a whole raspberry pi. If you call yourself a professional, I'd expect you do not rely on "free as advertised". As a sidenote; it would not surprise me if a lot of the government in my country relies on it.

But based on a quote in the article, it's not just free users who are affected.

That's even worse; but if they were paid for the service, then there's liability? I bet no one will be compensated. It would cost less than 100 dollars to have a better and safer setup, where them files be accessible everywhere you go. You think there's a market for that? If yes, then I'd collab with some CP members to make that a thing
