    Analytics India magazine[^]:

Though the abundance of repositories on GitHub that are forks of VS Code is undeniable, the new tools in the market are making VS Code struggle.

"Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

So they're uninstalling it for a *fork* of it. Yes, what a horrid program. :eyeroll: I mostly agree with that Google engineer though - it is one of the more important products they've put out (I'd still put it behind Excel in overall importance to businesses though)

It's important because it shepherds new developers into the fold. You can't spell developers, developers, developers without developers. I'm not sure why not just paywall VS features and trim to a "VS light" skin/default layout though? Also, I freakin' love Yogi Berra (too crowded): A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore. The future ain't what it used to be. When you come to a fork in the road, take it. -Yogi Berra (greater orator of his time)

Predictions are hard, especially about the future.

The site pops up an ad without a close button every 15-30 seconds, making the thing virtually unreadable. What I did read sounded like [old man grumbling sound]...
