I've been trying for at least a week, and spent a lot of time searching in google groups and MS Knowledge Base and I could not find the answer. I have a machine with XP Pro in it, and a Compaq 14XL352 Notebook with Me in it. I have an Epson Stylus Color 740i connected to XP, and shared. My sister, who has another machine with XP can print without problems, but the Me box not only cannot print, but also cannot access to any shared folder on the XP system, not to mention it can't also see the shared resources. Right now, what I only need is to be able to print from Me in the Epson connected to the XP. When I try to add the printer manually to Me, it asks for a password to the resource (even if the resource does not exist), and no matter which password I use, it's still wrong. I've tried activating the Guest account, changing from TCP/IP to IPX/SPX and some other things I read on the internet. Could anyone give me a hand? I would most appreciate i. Thanks in advance, Matias Szulman

Logon to the Me notebook using the same userid and password that you use to get into XP. NT/2000/XP all allow you to access shared resources by supplying a different userid/password than you are logged on to the local machine with, 9x/Me does not. You may also have to go into Folder Options on the XP box go to the View tab and uncheck Use simple file sharing (Recommended) option (may not be there on Home). This should get you printing, I have used this with XP and 9x/Me machines before successfully, Pro is better than Home when doing this.
