It's not an easy one to solve. That key combination is special. When you press the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys on the keyboard, the keyboard driver is detecting that and passing the instructions on to the OS, rather than any application(s). Trying to stuff the keyboard buffer does not get "low enough" in the hierarchy. You can use code similar to this. Basically, you go through each of the application document templates, to get each of the open documents. For each document (which could have multiple views), you go through each of the views, and then get the parent frame. How are you closing the thread? If you start the thread and close the app while the thread is still running you will get a memory leak.. In UI Threads I try to have the thread terminate it's self.. with a PostQuitMessage(0). Rob

Note that in some instances it's actually impossible to kill a process, even on NT! Some kernel calls are implemented in a way that they can hang (around) in kernel mode almost indefinitely. Trying to kill such a process is futile - it simply won't die. Also note that this design (though I'd personally call it a very serious flaw) prohibits you from even logging out - Windows wants to kill the process, which can't be killed. The only way to get out of this mess (except for waiting 365 years or so) is, really, a hardware reset.

Hmm, this seems to be kinda my area to watch. Although my suggestions have nothing to do with coding. There are a few programs online that you can download that will do pretty much what your asking for. I think one such program was called NetWatcher. Perhaps a search on Yahoo, Google, or some other search engine using the keywords, "Net Monitor, Net watcher, IPX logger, Connection watcher" or some similiar keyword might dredge up some good results. "Don't tell me I'm smart, I might actually believe you!"

good behavior is also to send the complete url of the request, which is not necessary when using direct connection. Instead of GET /index.htm HTTP/1.1 Header: Value which is allowed for direct connecting, you should use the full syntax: GET http://www.codeguru.com/index.htm HTTP/1.1 Header: Value from this the proxy will be able to know, where you want to connect ;)
