  • Get e-mail notification of new comments, when I go to the article, new comments are not there...
    G Graham Wilson

Until you asked, no. The last revision was from April 2021. But to see if I had any unintentional drafts, I had clicked on "Update Your Article". Now I have an unwanted draft. Sigh. Which leads me to my new question - how does one delete a draft of an article? The Delete icon does not clarify if I am deleting the article or the draft.

  • Get e-mail notification of new comments, when I go to the article, new comments are not there...
    G Graham Wilson

There are two e-mails from CodeProject for comments on my article "The Amazing ProgressBar Control": - My vote of 5 - If I change the Height, the "Texture" changed I login to CodeProject, click on the red Notifications button to the left of my reputation score, and I see I have two notifications as expected: - My vote of 5 - If I change the Height, the "Texture" changed I click on the "Go to..." link for either, and am sent to the article. When I scroll down to Comments and Discussions, the new comments are NOT there. The most recent is from 2020. Once I click on an entry in the Notification list, it is removed, so that list is now empty. But I still have the e-mails if you want to see them. Is this a CodeProject bug or am I delusional? :-) Thanks, Graham

They are correct now, and I used your set of tags to update two of my Tips/Tricks articles. All is good now. Many thanks for your help! Graham

  • Articles in the Wrong Section
    G Graham Wilson

Alas, the articles with the WinForms tag are still in the section "Desktop Programming". If I select Articles -> Browse Topic -> Desktop Programming, the articles are all there. Also each article is noted as being in "Articles / Desktop Programming". Regarding the Tale of Two Timers article, would it not make sense to have OS specific sections (e.g. Windows 7, Windows 10, MacOS, etc)? Some articles pertain to the OS and are language independent. Thanks Graham

  • Articles in the Wrong Section
    G Graham Wilson

How do I get my article into the section "Desktop Programming / Windows Forms"? I checked other articles already there, and the key tag seems to be "WinForms". Could not find the tag (should it be under "Technology")? I added it manually, but my article is still only in the section "Desktop Programming". Any suggestions? Graham

  • Articles in the Wrong Section
    G Graham Wilson

Thanks, but as per Greg's suggestion, I was trying first to fix this myself. I moved most of my articles to "Desktop Programming", which is an improvement. But I think a better location is "Desktop Programming / Windows Forms", but I don't know what tag(s) will get it to that new location. I expected to find some tag referring to WinForms under Technology, but no luck. Currently the tags are: C#, .NET, Intermediate, controls, Dev, desktop. As for my article "A Tale of Two Timers", I'm not sure where it should go. It's about Windows internals, and the programming in the article is a side issue. Currently it's in the section "Time", which you cannot get to using the articles menu. Is that a different bug? Thanks, Graham

Just realized that most (all?) of my articles are in the wrong section (e.g. should be Desktop Programming / Windows Forms, but instead is Web Development / HTML). This is most definitely my fault, but how do I fix it? Can I move an article to a new section, or that task in the domain of someone with admin rights? Thanks, Graham

  • View Stats - Downloads plot looks broken
    G Graham Wilson

There has been some progress - the X axis labels make sense. They are currently 09-Oct-20 to 22-Oct-20. But now the plotted values make no sense. There is one set of bars for the seven dates 09-Oct-20 to 15-Oct-20, and then one set of bars for the seven dates 16-Oct-20 to 22-Oct20:

Alas, it has not changed. I'm looking at it now, and the X axis labels are "12:00", "00:00", "12:00", ... , "00:00", "12:00". Also, there is one set of bars which span the entire width of the plot.

  • Why does image added as Article Thumbnail not appear as thumbnail?

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, adding the icon was all I did in that particular editing session. But this morning, I noticed that the icon was correctly set. Not sure if it was a cache issue.

  • Why does image added as Article Thumbnail not appear as thumbnail?
    G Graham Wilson

For my article "The Spiral TrackBar", I uploaded a thumbnail image (100x67 pixels) for the article using the Browse button under the Article Thumbnail section. The image is currently listed with the Images as Thumbnail.jpg, but it is not being displayed as the thumbnail. The auto-generated "Thumbnail.png" is still being displayed. How do I tell the Article Submission Wizard which image to use for a thumbnail? Thanks, Graham

  • View Stats - Downloads plot looks broken
    G Graham Wilson

In my article "The Spiral Trackbar Control", when I view Stats, the Downloads plot seems broken. The Y axis has multiple sets of two values "0:00" and "12:00". I expect multiple sets of bars, but there was only flat lines. The Stats data for my other articles look reasonable. I recently updated the article, and (unwisely?) deleted the old downloads. Might this be a clue?

  • Download links not working in Preview mode
    G Graham Wilson

I'm updating one of my old articles using the Article Submission Wizard. I've uploaded new downloads and updated the links in the article. But when I go to preview mode and test the downloads, for all of them I get "No download file was specified". I've looked at the HTML source in the editor, and it does look reasonable. The current (old) article is "The Spiral TrackBar Control" (https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/719643/The-Spiral-TrackBar-Control-2). Any suggestions? Thanks, Graham

Before I login, there is a box on the screen with "Current Viewers" and an impressive 5-digit number. When I select "Page Views", all I see is the message "Content Views per minute" and no numbers or graphs (see image below). I'm pretty sure I should be seeing something. If it matters, I'm using Firefox 68.0.1.

  • How to share an unpublished article?
    G Graham Wilson

Greetings. Is there a way for me to share an unpublished article with another CodeProject member? It would be a Preview-like link, so they could read, but not edit or change the article. Would be useful for proofreading, etc. Thanks, Graham

  • Has MathJax stopped working?
    G Graham Wilson

Chris, Thanks for the prompt reply - but I was referring to an article "The Spiral TrackBar Control". I viewed the article in both IE (version 11) and Firefox (version 50), and in both there was no formatting. I'm not sure if it is site issue, or an issue with the browsers on my PC. But anyways, having it enabled in the discussion forums would be great! Thanks Graham

  • Has MathJax stopped working?
    G Graham Wilson

It appears that mathematical expressions formatted using MathJax are not being displayed properly. Instead, they are being displayed as written. For the following in an article, I should see a nice r = A + B in italics: $\begin{aligned} r = A + B \theta \end{aligned}$ Instead I see exactly the line above. Having CodeProject support MathJax was discussed in the Article FAQ discussion forum, in a posting entitled "What is he preferred way to format mathematical expressions?" posted 17-Dec-13. I use MathJax in my article "The Spiral TrackBar Control" and just noticed that the nice mathematical formatting was all gone. Thanks, Graham
