What does your code look like. It sounds like an initialization problem.

This probably has to do with initialization. You are most likely referring to an object that has not yet been initialized. Try to step through your code instead of using GO and determine which statement results in the error. Good luck

I assume you are using a textbox. Just set the MaxLength property to the length you need. You can do this in the properties window (right click the text box and select Properties) or in code (Userform1.Textbox1.MaxLength = xx in the initialize procedure).
