This might sound like a stupid suggestion, but check the date/times on all the source modules. If any of them are in the future, this will happen. Happened to me once when someone screwed up the machine we used as a time server, when it got temporarily set to some time in 2007... Steve S

Unless it is a static function within the class that you are using (i.e. you would be doing something like MyFormatClass::FormatString(string);. I'm sorry but i do not understand what to do. Once I have the client and the server connected, how do i send the message to the server? It doesn't seem to send the data to the server. Is there something I have to pass between the two cpp files, or can i just connect and then instantiate a SOCKET object and send it to that? Can someone possible give me some sample code...i looked at the tutorials on this site but i still can't get it to work. Thanks in advance.

David, Thank you for your help. I had to manually insert the control in DoDataExchange because after reading the article you linked me to earlier today, i ungrouped the second radio. Thank you for your help. I figured it out, and with your code it works great. The problem was that I just had to destroy the window when closing the window.

"it doesn't update with a check mark the second time." It should, you could make sure that the 2nd windows's parent is the window with the menu, and you could put some code in there to make sure the pointers aren't NULL;

Hi, I have no idea, whar the clas CMainCommand is about, but nevertheless your code must fail. You create a new insatance of this class in OnOk() so this new instance surely doesnot know anything of windows/dialogs/form created prior to its creation. Thus Create(IDD_...) will always return true, because in the class instance of CMainCommand no flag or so is set to indicate that this dialog has been created already. Two possible solution. Try to get the applications pointer of its CMainCommand instance, and use this pointer. Or send/post the command to the application as if the user has selected the dialog via the menu. Not without a lot of work (from my experience). By far, the easiest way is to create a "blank" SDI project and copy the necessary files over. You'll still have to tweak a few of the files, but it will be minimal.

There is not an OnInitialUpdate() in my program. I did not see it in class wizard either. Could you possibly explain to me in more detail? Is there another way to do this? thanks again for your help.
