Not to mention, if you ever have a need to change what a string says, it's easier to use the resource than search the code for the string definition. Every once in a while, I've wanted to modify a title or reword a message in one of my programs.

Do you have Norton Antivirus installed? Since I installed Norton 2003 on my XPPro machine, I started getting this error, too.

Yeah. I use Norton 2003, XPPro, and VC6, and I get the first problem (the cannot save dialog) all the time. Do you, by any chance, know how to stop that error, short of uninstalling Norton?
