  • Anyone know why Orlando, FL is becoming the world center for software development?

WinDev East is in Boston and next year's Microsoft TechEd is in Atlanta. Also the PDC moves around quite a bit. Not held every year, the one previous to this year's Orlando conference was held in Denver

That's a bug on that page has *nothing* to do with where *most* people look for new articles (the "Latest Updates" page)

Where exactly do you "think" we listed Zafir's article as new? Zafir hasn't been on the site in over a year and nowhere on our site have we claimed that any of his articles are new. Anyway, I don't want to let this thread sink into a CG vs. CP debate. This thread should be about the great job Chris has done. Period. Since you obviously aren't one to let a silly thing like facts interfere with your myopic opinions, flame on. I won't bother to respond. Hopefully, others on this thread will be respectful enough of Chris' work here to focus on that

    >>> Just for curiousity, do you know where Code guru would be independent of all the other sites on developer.com? <<< I wish I did. Unfortunately, everyone does it by domain. I know that we make up 90% of all developer.com traffic but that doesn't tell me exactly where we fall. >>> I don't think there is any question that Code guru is the big boy on the block btw, it is just nice to see CodeProject.com make the list too <<< I apologize if I came across with the wrong impression here. I was simply correcting the other poster's remark that we weren't on the list. Now, that that's done, on to the important stuff: It's not "nice" that CodeProject has made it in the top 100. It's freakin' **AWESOME**!! What most people don't realize is that while Chris and I do run competing sites and work for different companies, the simple fact of the matter is that Chris is one of the few people that I can truly call a friend and he's deserved *every bit of success* his site has garnered. Simply put, they've done an incredible job on this site. That's why when someone mentioned on CodeGuru that our making CodeProject the resource of the month was politically motiviated, I was quick to correct that person that no it's nothing to do with politics. It has to do with the fact that CodeProject is a helluva nice site and should be recognized as such every bit as much as ours

Actually, CodeGuru is #7. Since the CodeGuru site is technically on the developer.com domain, it is listed as developer.com. In fact, the only sites that are ahead of CodeGuru are sites like MSDN, Netscape and Sun. Therefore, (since you brought the issue up :) CodeGuru is still far and away the most popular site of its kind on the Web.
