Just a guess, but have you tried something like:
CreateFile("\\\\.\\USB#VID_0781&PID_5530#077443117B924E40#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed}", ...);
or if your USB drive has a drive letter mapped to it:
CreateFile("\\\\.\\D:", ...);
