Well since I'm not a spider and I don't have a spiders vasculatory system, receptors, nervous system and really nothing in common with a spider I'm not going to take anything from this other than someone was really bored to do this. Interestingly similar studies showed pouring caffeine, beer, marijuana, meth, speed, horoine on different but related boulders of rock (from the same family of stone obviously) scientists were fascinated when they observed no change at all and they quickly sought a way to apply the results to college freshmen and sophomores do to the similarities. No correllation was found but it did create a lot of spam on the internet. :)

An urban legend to me. I couldn't find anything to prove it, though, but it really sounds strange NASA scientists studying spiders constructing webs under the influence of chemicals. From the Churchdown Parish Magazine: "Would the Congregation please note that the bowl at the back of the Church, labelled 'For The Sick,' is for monetary donations only."

Caffene is a toxin used to kill tree frogs in Hawaii. http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20030104/bob9.asp[^] My guess is that it is pretty toxic for the spider.
