I backup my data automatically every evening at 7.30 pm. Just yesterday a friend of mine has lost his all data because his Maxtor Dmax+9 had a failure. He used it as a *secure* storage drive, putting inside it the data as an archive. What a wrong habit! ___________________________________ Tozzi is right: Gaia is getting rid of us. naw, I am just accustomed to crashes. I live on state of the art at work, which also means state of the art bugs. I learned a long time ago, corruption can corrupt backups. Between Source control images, automatic backup (for convenience only, the true crash protector), and manual backups (for virus and corruption reasons). As much as the folks here comment about never knowing a guy hit with viruses, I have been hit half a dozen times. If I had not had offline backups, a couple of those would have been non-recoverable. Online backups are speedy, start and forget, and only good for crashes, but are ooooohhhhh, so convenient. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau.
