Egg milkshakes. Drop 3-4 eggs in a blender with some good milk or cream, a little vanilla, and some nutmeg. Blend, then drink. Fantastic stuff.

Since the age of 15, I have been unsuccessfully trying to gain weight. I eat junk food, eat a lot of deep fried stuff, always buy the non fat-free food, drink 3.2% milk, never limit my cheese, butter, sugar intake and yet, I am a thin, lean guy. *sigh*

I prefer cold, but if you slowly mix the beaten eggs into simmering milk and then immediately remove from heat, you end up with sort of a drinkable custard, which can be good on those cold winter nights.

I have lost 6 pounds in 4 weeks. I did not do anything extra. I almost halfed by food intake, i.e. I eat only to loose my hunger and not stuff my stomach. I did not change my diet, the same old food but at lesser quantity. (well not so difficult thing to do) No Chips or waffers except on sunday, I used to eat processed food almost every day.Actuall i dont find time to eat juck food anymore. No additional exercise (actually no exercise).I use my car to even to travel for a distance of 200 meters. I thought I should share this "formula" for anyone who wants to loose weight but dont find time to exercise or dont like dieting either. I dont know how good loseing 6pounds in 4week is, but then I lost something ;)

Congrats! Keep it up! What you eat and how much is generally a larger factor in weight loss than exercise. I lost 20 lbs. from Jan '05 to Nov '05. Started going regularly to the gym, and gained 5 lbs. I stopped exercising through the holidays and lost those 5 lbs. :) Back in the gym to day though, since my overall health will be improved for it. BW

A friend of mine years ago did the same thing, he ate *exactly* half of what he used to but didn't change anything else. He used to take 4 sandwiches to work for lunch and switched to 2. What I've been doing recently is eating my supper for breakfast and only a salad at suppertime. So a common breakfast for me might be steak and eggs or pasta or salmon with veggies and rice. Took a bit of getting used to at first but now it works perfectly. I go to bed without feeling bloated and full, sleep better, lose weight at a moderate pace etc etc. You really need that food for the day, but you don't need it at night when you're sleeping so I think it makes perfect sense for everyone to turn their eating pattern upside down.

Should this not be bananna. Doesn't have that shit nutmeg taste (fuck'n aweful) and also has the benefit of extra calories and fruit goodness. At least that is how I used to do it when trying to gain weight (while going to the gym) also used to ad protein powder. Prakash: Congrats on losing 6lbs! The trick is slow but sure, then it really will stay off. You may want to consider picking up some exercise, perhaps a little walking (maybe 20 minutes) at lunch or something will really give you an edge in your weight loss efforts. I know time is an issue, but you would be surprised how many things it helps. I can focus more, I'm more happier and clear-headed and I even sleep better. It's amazing. I have lost 75lbs in the past two years and I feel so much better. If you ever need any advice, let me know. Good Luck! I think there is no one formula for all, everybody's body respond differently and also the climate might help too. Since in Mumbai(india) it is usally hot, metabolism must be high, while in cold places metabolism is not too high. I think only eat as much as you need is a good way to start off, a little exercise would help too.

Bananas are good too. It's still eggnog season though, so i have nutmeg on my mind... This reminds me, i'm out of bananas. Wish i'd remembered that before getting home.

I tried a similar diet; I found I dropped several pounds. Granted what I lost was what little fat I had on my body it was still disconcerning that eating 10,000 calories a day and I still had trouble putting weight on. :^)

I prefer cold, but if you slowly mix the beaten eggs into simmering milk and then immediately remove from heat, you end up with sort of a drinkable custard, which can be good on those cold winter nights.
