SQL Server (Beta 2) install
-
I was trying to install this last night (I can't afford the release copy at the moment) and came across a nice problem. The install verifies that it can access the server right at the end. However, this part failed, saying that the configuration was wrong (remember, this is during installation - I haven't had a chance to configure anything yet). It then gave me two options - Retry or Cancel. Of course, Retry made no difference so I clicked Cancel. The installer then proceeded to rollback everything it had done. So I can't install because it's configured incorrectly, and can't configure it because it's not installed. Nice. This is going to be very interesting to work around... :~

That's my next move... although I've got the beta Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server Express 2005 likes to have all the betas removed first. I'll have to see if it works.
