Got an Excel 2003 document at work that is password protected. The bloke that created the document was fired a couple of months ago. Needless to say he doesn't feel like giving us the password. Need to use the document to calculate daily takings and have found a couple of small errors I need to correct. Any recommendations of products I can get/purchase to find/remove the password for me? Both, though you do not need to enter a password when you open the document. The formulas and cells are password protected.

Michael, Our wonderful HR department is well known for coming up with creative excel documents :cough: (crap) and password protecting them, I normally select all and copy everything over to a new blank excel sheet fix their creative genius and resave the document.

Cells are set to hidden (even those cells that I need to enter data into) so when password protected you see nothing. So I believe that copying will not find the relevant formula information. Michael Martin Australia "I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". That's a nice feature.

                    It was worth a shot.
