Hey Hopefully somebody, knows the answer to this problem. I'm needing to use a control that my company had purchased in a asp .net 2.0 web app. Problem is that the control was designed or is for .net v1.1 Is there any way around this or some IIS server configs to change to allow the control to work. In design view the control is present, but when choose to build and run, the control isn't there. Thanks in advance Gerry

Does the company make a 2.0 version of the control? Perhaps they'll let you upgrade at a discount (or for free?) As an alternative, you can have 2.0 and 1.1 running side-by-side on the same web server. In the IIS management console, you can bring up properties of your web site, choose the ASP.NET tab, and set the version of ASP.NET you want to use for the given site. I'm guessing you probably want to keep the site at v. 2.0 though... so your best bet may be to see if the vendor makes an upgraded version.

I figured out why it wouldn't work, I wasn't calling a function that would make it visible. Also after contacting the company, they released the .net 2.0 version today for download. Thanks for the responses. Gerry
