Nm. I had my chrome://flags set wrong. See Figure 1 for an explanation of how to set flags.
I know what you mean; it's certainly not a handholding language. I don't profess to know any where near enough about template metaprogramming to be able to coerce it do do some of the things I might like. Definitely a language for grown up programming.

Any questions about a specific product like that would be better asked of Support for that product. The likelyhood of someone developing for such a product and seeing your post is beyond tiny.
