We'll have flying cars when computer controlled autopilots are safe enough to auto-pilot even the biggest idiot. Until then I don't see many people, outside of the same group of people who would send themselves to flight school, going for this. Thank God! Do you really want the same kind of SUV drivers up in the sky that cause more than enough problems just driving on the road? Ugh! ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned Save an Orange - Use the VCF!

Flying cars do sound cool, but I wouldn't want everyone flying them. Imagine some idiot crashing on top of your house or backyard. At least with cars, accidents mostly stay on the streets.

It being snowbird season here, I find that most drivers have more than enough troubles handling two dimensions in real time; giving them a z-axis to play with would only be asking for mayhem. "...a photo album is like Life, but flat and stuck to pages." - Shog9

They've been just around the corner for sixty years, along with personal jet back packs and software that lets you write sophisticated programs by just dragging and connecting icons. Anyone who thinks he has a better idea of what's good for people than people do is a swine. - P.J. O'Rourke

I think the flying car is a bad idea, it would give terrorists another weapon to use. :sigh:
