I am sorry this is the wrong forum but it is important. I am supposed to put a ra file on a CD for a friend but I can't convert it to a usable format. Does anyone know of something that will convert it to a wav or mp3? Thanks, and sorry for posting int the wrong forum. -:suss:Matt Newman:suss: -Sonork ID: 100.11179:BestSnowman

Hi, Matt. In our recording studio, we use Cool Edit Pro to create the mp3 samples for our bands' CDs. I think they have an entry level package on the cheap, but I had to pay an extra $20 or so for the "Save as mp3" option. Still in all, it's good audio software for a reasonable price. Hope this helps. Chistopher Duncan Author - The Career Programmer: Guerilla Tactics for an Imperfect World (Apress)

there's prolly some real (no pun intended) software out there to do this, but for my needs a short patch cable going from line out to line in has always worked well enough. If it was high quality audio, it prolly wouldn't be in ra format anyway. And if words were wisdom, I'd be talking even more.

Not sure if there are any tools to convert directly from .ra to .wav. You can try 'Virtual Audio Cable', shareware/demoware I think. Or if your soundcard supports full duplex, you may be able to play the .ra clip and record it directly into another application.
