Nathan, I'd love to see an article from you, as other CPians. As others have pointed out, we're not bigots, and I've flirted with mingw myself. :) Cheers, Vikram.

Sorry not related to this thread but I couldnt resist. Congratulations on Arsenal win yesterday night. I still can't believe it. That was the best piece of football for a long time from Gunners. Hoping to do the same in the second leg Regards, "Writing specifications is like writing a novel. Yes. A most wonderful victory. I can't stop smiling this morning. The Galacticos were outplayed by an Arsenal youth/reserve side. 9 main players out but they played like it didn't matter. Henry was the star, but each player played his part to make it one of the greatest European nights in Arsenal history. 1-0 to the Arsenal, 1-0 to the Arsenal.... :-D Michael CP Blog [^] Development Blog [^]

I've seen offtopics in my life, but none like this. (8-o By the way, I write from Spain but I'm not Real Madrid supporter. I write as technician. So I don't want to be misunderstood. :-) Regards.

Actually as Michael said, same is the case here. I can't hide my smile this morning. That was a huge boost of relief for us Gunner fans after our bad premiership form. And yes, I was off topic because I couldnt resist bragging on seeing the name of another Gunners fan viz. Mr. Micahel P Butler.

So, who do you support. Please say Barcelone :P "Writing specifications is like writing a novel. Writing code is like writing poetry."

mmm... I don't like to talk about this here but... as you ask me to... I can tell you that I'm not Real Madrid but if I have to choose between Madrid and Barça the option is absolutely clear: Madrid. I only want good results for Barça when they play against other non-spanish teams, as today against Chelsea (in spite of my dislike I must accept that their matches should be videotaped and stored for future enjoy because it's absolutely spectacular). And I talk of Barça as a team and as entity. I REALLY DO admire Etoo, Ronaldinho and Messi. But if you think Gunners are going bad try to investigate about Real Sporting de Gijón here in Spain (my supported team). They will dissapear in a few months after 100 years of history and they are actually dying of debts with no hope... :-( oh well, do you think Abramovich would be interested in such investment? Spanish market would be opened... Please, let him know about it... :-) And now, let's talk about serious things. This forums are not intended for this. What was the question???? ;P

Sorry, I couldn't resist the really, really bad pun. I have one question for the admins and another for everyone else. I know Code Project is a Windows tech site, but I wonder if I wanted to write an article relating to something else, ie intro to makefiles or intro to python or something a bit different: 1. (for the admins) Would this be accepted as an article, and would there be a section to put it? 2. (for everyone) Would anyone care to read it? If this is a touchy subject, I apologize. I don't want to start any sort of flame war over OS superiority, and I'm certainly not here to evangelize, but I imagine that some sort of "introduction to compiling with g++" could be useful to a minority of CP users, and it's the only article a long time lurker like me would know how to write. So? What do people think? -- modified at 1:17 Wednesday 22nd February, 2006

I think such an article would not only be welcome, but very useful. AFAIK, gcc and other such open source software runs on windows too.
