I.m a great fan of PsPad http://www.pspad.com it has so many features I still keep finding new ones and it is free. The only problem is that the English translation is not 100% correct, but that is not a real problem.

Man! He's a regular here. He works his can off on his IDE and it's a nice product but nobody plugs for him. LEPPIE, has a nice editor that supports many common languages and if I didn't have VS 2005/VS 2003 I'd use his product and I still do for many things. It light, fast and clean and it's appealing to the eye. Leppie did a good job with it. Leppie this one's for you :-D http://blogs.wdevs.com/leppie/[^] to get directly to the project site for a download use http://sourceforge.net/projects/xacc/[^]
I only read CP for the articles. Code-frog System Architects, Inc.

I'll agree with that. xacc.ide is amazing. And it is nice on the eyes...something which a lot of programmer's editors are not.

"not written in .Net." Why ? Do you know why it's important to make fast decisions? Because you give yourself more time to correct your mistakes, when you find out that you made the wrong one. Chris Meech on deciding whether to go to his daughters graduation or a Neil Young concert

TextPad is good especially if you're used to VC++-style editing but it's not quite free (WinZip-style license). Kevin

Give PSPad a try, I use it almost constantly and it has some really nice tools including a basic but effective FTP client, Lorem Ipsum generator and so on. http://www.pspad.com/
