It never seems to build the right thing... I don't want *all* my projects to build, just for the damn start-up project... And no, I don't want to right-click on it and select Build --- who wants to use the mouse anyway? Ahhh... some things about vc6 were real nice... You could go in and un-check the different projects in the build configuration manager. That way it wouldn't ever build them automatically.

Good God no. I don't care how jacked up VS2005 is, I'm not doing any more development with Vim.

Gay maybe a fine derogatory term for elementary school, but if you want to be a professional you might want to stick to terms that more accurately describe the problem in a technical manner such as "Suckfest" or "can of worms" or "more bugs than a baitshop". ;)

Not IMO, but then nothing beats RHIDE anyway. I guess I just got used to it's "quirks" they became the norm. I quite like some of the features of the IDE in VS2k3, but the general project/solution tends to make life more complex than is necessary. What happened to makefiles? ;)

Gay, before it meant gay, meant joyful or happy. Admittedly, I would be hard pressed to justify these attributes to VS 2005. Unless mabye we find a flower power skin for it.

Haven't used RHIDE since i last used DJGPP, but yeah, that was one classy IDE.

They're still around. :) Using them with VS2005 is pretty much out though. Microsoft is moving to a new XML-based build system (MSBuild), and future versions of VC++ will use this as their project file format... Of course, VS200_x_ use some bastard XML format that almost nothing understands. Search for VCBuild to find the one tool that does.
