So here I am, sat working at home, with a cup of coffee on my desk. One of our cats then decides to jump up onto my desk to gain access to the window sill - and promptly knocks the cup of coffee over, falls arse first into my wastebasket, shortly followed by the coffee cup. Cat freaks, and scarpers downstairs leaving coffee-coloured paw prints. Find cat hiding under table, covered in coffee and looking very sorry for herself. Luckily for Betty: 1. The coffee was lukewarm. 2. It was de-caff! So no chance of cat cleaning itself and then having a coronary! :) he he.

I'm not the only one for whom that's a regular occurrance, eh? :-D

You've met a cat right? Within 24 hours the "event" will not have ever happened and if you even mention it to the cat it will turn its head and ignore you. Every cat has taken a fall at one time or another (how else do we know they land on their feet?), but you will never get a cat to admit it. And since the communication thing is somewhat "lacking" it is pretty difficult to ask them if they actually remember it or not. :-D _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. You know, cats are supposedly among the most graceful creatures. At times, they can pull that off. Then you get what happened to one of my cats. She sat on the counter, taunting the dog who was trying to sniff her. The cat, figuring she had the high ground, reached down to wap the dog on the nose. In doing so, she managed to slip off of the counter and onto the dog's head, freaking out the both of them. The dog shook his head frantically, flinging the cat onto the floor on her back (once again disproving the myth that cats always land on their feet). The dog took off after the cat, who flipped over and dashed for the safety of the basement but missed the opening and ran into the wall. I swear the dog stopped to laugh at her. The cat, slightly dazed, quickly recovered and ran downstairs. I'm actually more of a cat person, and I usually root for the cat to torment the dog, but damn that was funny.

They need enough height to be able to twist around, sounds like this fall was a bit quick!

Someone once found out the minimum height required for a cat to twist a 180 and land on their feet.... The video of the midair twist was great, but I wouldn't have wanted to try to get the approval for the test.... Sounds like what happened with my dog once. I had a can of beer sitting on an end table. I got up, and knocked the can off onto the floor. The dog ran over, and licked up most of the beer before I could grab a towel to clean it up. The only thing funnier than a drunk English Setter, is the woebegone look an English Setter gives you when she has a hangover.
