The technical arts are great equalizers - completely gender-transparent. If you have the brains, and the interest, you're in good shape. I'm old enough to remember when women in technical jobs found innumerable barriers to advancement - even entry - in the professions. I don't see nearly as many problems today, and I hope that's reality, not just my wishful thinking.

She is a liar. In fact she is not she but he. His name is Imran Farooqui. I got her/his mail address from codeproject and checked the MSN profile. It matches with the mail address but the name is of a boy. Secondly I live in Karachi too and palm devices are not used extensively that someone would require too develop apps. and he is a member of CodeProject since 1 October 2001. I am 99 percent sure its a lie. LIAR LIAR LIAR. There cant be any company in Pakistan having 16 gals out of 21. IMPOSSIBLE. These are the kinda guys who try to spoil the name of my country. In my dream, I was dorwning in my §orrow§ But my §orrow§, they learned to §wim

Great sig! But I would rephrase it slightly: In my dream, I was drowning my sorrows But my sorrows learned to swim.

You wouldn't - you are married, have two wonderful boys and a michevious labrador. But if you did, you would probably start a landslide in the number of new male members... ;) ________________ David Wulff http://www.davidwulff.co.uk Sonork ID: 100.9977 Dave …

I know you meant that as a compliment, so thank you. But really treating people like a piece of meat might attract people looking for a singles bar, not people looking to interact with thier peers. I will behave now before I get thrown out. ;) Cathy Life's uncertain, have dessert first!

Well, doing programming is a pressured job.. specially when you need to meet the deadline for the project... For me, I have to make it a point that I do my job very well and finished it within the frame time... With regards to your question...well, I guess it's both... job is a big competition, you have to do your best to be on the top...;) :rose: :rose: Samantha:rose:

I guess I ask mainly because as the only person at work without a degree, I've always felt similar pressure and I've only recently realised the only person who is worried about it is me.
